Nintendo Museum Guide

In addition to product exhibits and
interactive experiences,
the Nintendo Museum features
multiple locations of interest on its campus,
including a workshop where guests discover
more about the card game Hanafuda,
a café, and a shop.
These scenarios are designed to help
those interested in visiting the museum,
such as families or friends,
envision how their particular experience
may unfold.

14:00 Getting to the
Nintendo Museum

Travel by train to Ogura Station on the Kintetsu Railway Kyoto Line, the closest station to the Nintendo Museum, and then walk to the museum.

*Please take public transportation, excluding taxis, to reach the museum.
Do not travel to the museum by cars, motorcycles, bicycles, or taxis.

*Guests using a stroller should refer to the above website for a route from the closest station with fewer stairways.

Large items can be stored in the coin lockers (free of charge*).

*A 100-yen coin must be inserted at the time of use but will be returned to you at the end of use.

Entering the Museum

  1. 1 Issuing the QR code
    Issuing the QR code

    Access the ticketing website and issue the QR code on your smartphone. QR codes can be issued starting at 14:00 the day before your visit.

  2. 2 Scanning QR codes at the gate

    Follow the attendant's directions to scan the QR code at the gate. A ticket purchaser may act as a representative for their group and scan the QR codes of their accompanying members to allow them entry (*1).

  3. 3 Receiving the play tickets
    Receiving the play tickets

    After undergoing a security check, guests will be given a play ticket (*2). Play tickets are used for the interactive exhibits and other things in the museum. Each guest will need their own play ticket while inside the museum. Please take care not to lose it.

*1: QR codes can also be issued on each group member's smartphone by assigning the tickets ahead of time.

*2: Preschoolers three years or older will be given an experience card instead of a play ticket.

14:10 Making a Workshop
Reservation

After entering the museum, guests are free to explore the premises, but participating in a workshop session requires making a same-day reservation and paying an additional fee.
Since reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis, we recommend making one as soon as possible if you wish to participate in the workshop.

two sessions themed
around the card game Hanafuda.
One session is for making cards,
and the other is for playing the game.

All floors in the museum can be accessed via stairs, escalators, as well as elevators.
Please use the elevators if you are using a stroller or wheelchair.

Exhibition Building 1, 2nd Floor

Enter through the gate of Exhibition Building 1 and proceed to the exhibits on the 2nd floor.
On the second floor, there are exhibits of the many products Nintendo has released.
Guests can view the exhibits while pushing a stroller.

A private nursing room where guests can nurse their child and change the child's diaper is available on the 1st floors of Exhibition Building 1 and Exhibition Building 3, The nursing rooms are located outside the exhibition gate, but since guests can reenter the exhibition area after exiting them, you can return to the exhibits at any time after using the nursing room.

*Diapers can also be changed in any of the museum's four accessible restrooms.

Guests can find a collection of strategy guides for Nintendo games and other books of interest near the information counter on the 1st floor. There's also seating available, so guests can take some time to relax.

At the interactive exhibits, guests can participate in a variety of play experiences using coins loaded on their play tickets. You will need to pass through the gate when entering and exiting, but you can reenter the interactive exhibits area at any time.

*Guests will not be provided with additional coins upon reentry.

Those with a stroller may use the stroller storage area near Shigureden SP.

Moving to the Workshop Area

Please go to the workshop room at the appointed time.
The workshop rooms for "Let's Make Hanafuda!" and "Try Playing Hanafuda!" are on the 2nd floor of Exhibition Building 3. To go to the 2nd floor, please use the stairs and elevator in the café.

Guests can try your hand at making some Hanafuda playing cards in the "Let’s Make Hanafuda!" workshop.
You can take the cards you make in this workshop home as a souvenir.

Thank you for visiting the Nintendo Museum.
In the Exhibit Records section on the ticketing website, you can find a record of the experiences you participated in during your visit, along with commemorative photos that were taken during those experiences.

Guests can choose to have a snapshot of their experience taken when participating in each interactive exhibit.

These photos are stored for only 30 days after the visit and should be downloaded as soon as possible.

*Before starting an interactive exhibit, guests will be asked via the exhibit's screen whether or not they consent to having their photo taken. Guests who would prefer to not have their photo taken should select No.

*Photos are not taken automatically when experiencing the Shigureden SP,
Zapper & Scope SP, and Nintendo Classics interactive exhibits.

Your Nintendo Museum Ticketing Website

*If members of a guest's group are assigned their own Nintendo Museum QR codes, they can access the Exhibit Records section through their own Nintendo Museum ticketing website.

*If members of a guest's group are not assigned their own Nintendo Museum QR codes, then the ticket purchaser can access the Exhibit Records of all group members through their Nintendo Museum ticketing website.

*Records will be accessible for only 30 days from the day of the visit.
